There are currently six factions in Holdfast: Nations At War (in order of release):

Factions

The British Empire

Major contender in the Coalition Wars. Available since Early Access. The British Empire is the only faction which gets access to two special classes: Rocketeers and Bagpipers. Playable on Land and on Naval Assault, Naval Battlefield and Coastal Siege.

The French Empire

Major contender in the Coalition Wars. Available since Early Access. Playable on Land and on Naval Assault, Naval Battlefield and Coastal Siege.

The Kingdom of Prussia

Major contender, joined in the War of the First Coalition and later the War of the Fourth Coalition+. Added in Game Version 0.14. Only playable on Land.

The Russian Empire

Major contender, joined in the War of the Second Coalition+. Added in Game Version 1.0. Only playable on Land.

The Kingdom of Italy

Minor contender, in Personal Union with Napoleon during the Napoleonic Wars. Added in Game Version 1.15. Only playable on Land.

The Austrian Empire

Added in Game Version 2.11. Only playable on Land.
