The Skirmisher classes are intended to operate away from the lines, and as such do not benefit from any of the buffs one might get from being in the line or in proximity to auxilliary classes. Their effectiveness comes from their speed and deadly accuracy, striking lines with the element of surprise.

The light infantry classes move with a greater speed than the rest of the player classes, able to outpace lines to reach tactical positions and cause disruption in the enemy lines before moving on. Their most effective firing position is crouched in cover, making them unattractive individual targets for lines. The cost of their lighter gear is a weakness in melee, resulting in less damage dealt, and more damage received when engaged in close combat.

Trait LightFooted.png Light Footed Fast and nimble. Your running speed is increased by 7% but you deal less damage with melee weapons.
Trait Skirmisher.png Skirmisher Drilled with knowledge on skirmishing tactics. Your accuracy when using firearms while crouching is increased by 15% but you receive more damage when stricken by melee weapons.

The Rifleman class is the sharpshooter of the game, demonstrating deadly accuracy compared to their musket wielding peers. Due to their tighter barrels, their rifles take longer to load than a smooth bore musket. As a result, these classes are better suited for operating alone at a distance from both friend and foe alike.
