Rise through the ranks and define your legacy on the battlefield. Whether you choose to support the line as a musician, man the heavy ordnance as an artillery crewman, provide life-saving aid as a surgeon, or stand firm as a line infantryman, the regiment experience is the definitive way to play Holdfast: Nations At War.
Regiments are community-governed organizations (clans) that serve as the heartbeat of the game’s tactical ecosystem. These units host and participate in a diverse array of private and public engagements, ranging from disciplined hardcore line battles and multi-stage persistent campaigns to formal ceremonies, elite melee tournaments, and rigorous tactical training.
Every regiment is unique, shaped by its own traditions, historical focus, and competitive drive. For players seeking structured, team-based gameplay and the thrill of organized 150-player clashes, joining a regiment is the gateway to the most immersive and rewarding experience the community has to offer.
Community & Regiments
Experience Holdfast at its highest level by joining a Regiment—community-driven organizations (clans) that specialize in coordinated tactical warfare. Whether you wish to support the line as a musician or surgeon, man the heavy ordnance of the artillery, or stand firm in a disciplined infantry volley, regiments provide the structure and training necessary for competitive success.
What are Regiments?
Regiments are the backbone of the Holdfast community. These groups:
- Organize Weekly Events: Participate in large-scale private battles (up to 150+ players) that are not available to the general public.
- Maintain Professional Hierarchies: Use historical ranks and specialized roles to ensure field efficiency.
- Coordinate via Discord: Utilize external communication for schedules, tactical briefings, and social interaction.
Why Enlist?
- Tactical Depth: Move beyond the "chaos" of public servers to perform complex maneuvers, synchronized volleys, and strategic charges.
- Regiment Prestige: Progress through a dedicated leveling system. Active regiments can reach Prestige Levels (Rank 70+), unlocking decorative banners and visual flair for the unit’s in-game registry.
- Skill Development: Access "Specialist Schools" for melee mastery, advanced artillery ranging, or leadership training.
- Persistent Campaigns: Engage in multi-week scenarios where every victory or defeat affects a persistent war map.
Event Categories
| Event Type | Focus |
| Line Battles (Hardcore) | Strict formation fighting, rigid volley discipline, and limited respawns. |
| Campaigns | Narrative-driven events where results carry over to future battles. |
| Frontlines & Siege | Modern trench warfare or fortified defense with specific role-play elements. |
| Melee Tournaments | Competitive brackets focusing on bayonet and sabre proficiency. |
| Drills & Training | Weekly sessions to refine unit cohesion and individual skill. |
Enlistment Process
- Join the Official Discord: Access the Official Holdfast Discord and navigate to the #recruitment channel.
- Filter by Preference: Look for tags matching your Region (EU, NA, OC), Primary Era (Napoleonic or Frontlines), and Vibe (Casual vs. Hardcore).
- Submit an Enlistment Request: Search for the regiment's name in the In-Game Registry (Regiments Tab) and click "Request Enlistment." > Pro Tip: Sample DM to Recruiters
"Hi! I’m interested in enlisting. Region: NA (Eastern) | Role: Line Infantry / Artillery | Experience: 50 Hours (Public) | Availability: Tue/Sat Evenings."
Choosing the Right Unit
- Platform & Compatibility: Holdfast supports full Cross-play. While most regiments welcome console and PC players alike, some "Modded" events are currently restricted to the PC (Steam) version. Check the recruitment post for specific platform requirements.
- Commitment Level: Some units require attendance for 2+ events per week, while others are "casual-attendance" friendly.
- Culture: Units range from "Realism" (using historical commands) to "Social" (focused on community fun and memes).
Expectations & Etiquette
- Communication: A microphone is strongly recommended for organized events to hear Officer commands.
- Reliability: Use the LOA (Leave of Absence) channels in Discord if you cannot attend a scheduled event.
- Integrity: You represent your regiment's reputation. Respect the rules of engagement and the administrative staff during hosted events.
