Voice Commands

This page compiles essential information regarding in-game voice communication and key controls for the Musician class, optimized for both PC and Console (Xbox / PS5) platforms.

I. Proximity Voice Chat (Push-to-Talk)

Holdfast uses a proximity-based voice chat system. Your voice can be heard by any player—friend or foe—who is near your physical location in the game world. The system is always Push-to-Talk (PTT); there is no open microphone or toggle option.

Action PC Control (Default) Xbox Control (Default) PS5 Control (Default) Notes
Speak (Push-to-Talk) Hold Y Hold Y Hold Triangle (△) The microphone icon will appear above your health bar while the button is held.
Mute All In-Game Voice Press K N/A (Use Settings Menu) N/A (Use Settings Menu) Toggles on/off all incoming player voice chat. A disabled audio icon will appear on the HUD.
Mute Individual Players Press P Menu Button (then navigate to Scoreboard > Mute Player) Options Button (then navigate to Scoreboard > Mute Player) Opens the scoreboard/mute menu to silence players individually.

Console Voice Chat Troubleshooting

  • Party Chat Conflict: If you are in an Xbox Live Party or a PlayStation Party, your in-game Push-to-Talk may not work. You may need to switch your console's party settings from "Party Chat" to "Game Chat (Priority)" or adjust the in-game audio settings to ensure the microphone is routed to the game. On some consoles, simply holding the PTT button (Y / ) may allow you to bypass the party chat and speak in-game without changing priority.

III. Officer/Sailor Order Voice Commands

This system uses a menu to select pre-recorded voice lines to issue commands to your unit or fellow crew. These commands do not use your microphone.

Action PC Control (Default) Xbox Control (Default) PS5 Control (Default) Notes
Open Voice Command Menu Hold V Hold View Button (or equivalent on your controller) Hold Touchpad Button (or equivalent on your controller) This opens the wheel/list of pre-recorded orders.
Issue Command Click on the desired command. Press A (Xbox) or X (PS5) to select a command. Commands are class-specific (Officer/Sailor/Sergeant).
